Twelve Days of Anime 2015 Part 2: 80s Anime Adventure

ledaYou know someone really cares about you when they push you toward stuff animated by Mutsumi Inomata.  Luckily, I had a friend do just that for me this year.

Leda: The Fantastic Adventure of Yohko is visual treat of a science fiction film made in 1985.  It’s got this joyful feeling to it.  There is a real spirit of fun and adventure radiating from this movie.

Of course, the real joy is getting to look at the thing.  Everything about Leda, from the backgrounds and mechanical design to the awesome animation, is gorgeous.  But, rather than writing about the movie here, I think I’ll let the visuals speak for themselves.

’80s sci-fi was awesome, man. XD Speaking of Inomata, you may enjoy Plawes Sanshiro, which features wrestling robots; might be up your alley.
